Easter Holidays at Scooby-part3 Now for the rest of my adventures at Scooby during the Easter Holidays. It was a Friday morning and I just got started working at the Paddock 3 field. All of a sudden I noticed a group of young people walking in the next paddock, number 4. At first thought they seemed a group of visitors enjoying a Scooby tour. But soon I realised they were busy putting anti flea collars on all the dogs. There was a lot going on in the paddocks but the dogs absolutely loved seeing so many two-legged creatures all of a sudden. I had a laugh a number of times since some of the dogs made the event into a nice game of cat and mouse. Every time one of the volunteers came close enough, the dogs would take a run for it and dash away, the hapless volunteer trailing behind them;-). By afternoon every dog was wearing a collar. It was a real joy to see so many Spanish volunteers at the site. Back in 2004 when I traveled to Scooby for the first time this was simply not possible. But thanks to Fermin’s hard work and his dedication to get more public attention there are now more and more Spanish people pulling their weight for animals. The information stands at big public events are very important and have definitely proven their value. I was very pleased to have a chat with these volunteers after all the work was done for the day. It’s always great to meet people who share your passion. I hope to see them all again some time during one of my visits to Scooby.
